Can I Guess? (possible spoilers__)
Just saw the trailer which makes me think Snoop Dogg's character is a figment of Dylan McDermott's character's imagination.. Anyone seen it?
shareI'm afraid not. It's adapted from a Bernard Malamud novel, and he's definitely a real person. It's a character-driven story. Pretty dark and not very uplifting, but a fantastic short novel nevertheless. This could be a breakout dramatic role for Snoop if done well. It's really the perfect role for him.
I wasn't even aware an adaptation of this book was being made. We should all look forward to it.

sharedidn't quite work. He seemed stiff and strained the whole time. Don't get me wrong- I DO see alot of improvement on his part but let's face it: The guy is just not an actor. The entire time he was speaking, I found myself imagining the way a real actor would have delivered the dialogue. I'm not some "rap hater" either. In fact, I am a huge fan of hip hop and have been since I was a child. Tupac Shakur, Mos Def, Ice Cube, and Ludacris have all proven themselves to be solid actors. But Snoop just doesn't have the ability to envelope himself in a character the way they did. He emoted too much emotion at times and not enough in other scenes, leaving the film to come off as a real mess.
