When you think about it, he's hardly ever made better film in his life. OUATIC is a classic only because it's 15 years old film, give some time to this one too, because i'm sure with the coming years this film will top any other film he's made before. OUTIC was also tailored in the fashion of the Swordsman and other films at that time, what's your point. Tsui Hark was "always" influenced by the films released around his own. Seven Swords, if anything was trying and IS a real turning point for the modern martial arts films and we're very grateful because we've been waiting for this a very looong time. Recently i realized that actually its unevenness is this film's strength. It's quite evident there are still people who are very restrained by the limitations of today's artistic standards.
By the way, Legend Of Zu is widely known as one of his very best too for your information. (LOZ is in my top 5 of his films, AND i'm not alone, in fact you're just second one i saw who thought this film was bad) Reading your little futile comment convinced me that you absolutely lost any judgement there. Especially when you try to draw some objectivity over everyone's eyes here. Nonsense.
And you know what, for me Seven Swords is also not that far from Seven Samurai in terms of the quality. Give us more time and you'll have lots of people who'll think it's much better.
As a matter of fact I think it's fair to say that HOFD was a better film
Thank you, then what's you're doing here?!? Please, YOU don't talk about Kurosawa or Tsui Hark ever again, thank you.
