Nonchristians can still enjoy this right?

I really don't know what to expect with this movie so I'm asking, Is it heavy on the REPENT!!! JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY!!! area? Is it hard to understand if you aren't that familiar with Christianity or something?

Could a couple of new age, atheist, 17 year old film buff hippies like this movie?

I just want to know before I attempt to drag ^ friends to see this.

Well, I'll let someone who has seen it speak to whether or not non-Christians will "enjoy" the movie, but I'll give a shot to whether or not a non-Christian will understand it. Observe Steve Taylor's lyrics from "I Want to be a Clone" ...

"Their language, it was new to me,
but Christianese got through to me.
Now I can speak it fluently.
I want to be a clone."

Just to be clear, the particular type of church or type of Christians being described here are not seen in a favorable light by Mr. Taylor. In other words, if a non-Christian goes to this movie and finds it to be too insider-y, then Steve is not in sync. I fully expect that he is in sync.

Give it a shot and bring your friends :)

having seen this film and comments about it, i can tell you that people are incredibly moved by the social issues that it tackles and that it has generated a ton of discussion about the church and what it means to serve

people cry, feel guilty, empathize, get motivated, see themselves in the story, rejoice and most of all TALK TALK TALK after the film

anybody who cares at all for his fellow man should see this film and ask, what am I doing to make a difference

I've seen the movie, and it will definitely have appeal to non-Christians. I think anyone with an interest in race relations, sociology of religion, cross cultural relationships, or forgiveness and reconciliation would be drawn to the film. Additionally, unlike most movies where Christians are either portayed as unrealistically righteous or, at the opposite extreme, hypocritical villains, the Christians portrayed in this movie seem to be real people with both faults and virtues. Take your friends!

I'd say they could, honestly the theme is more about the social issues and racial/economic divide within the american church than how to avoid hell. Eveyone is different though.
