something abt korean movies...

i used to be a gr8 fan of korean movies ..but after watching a hell lot of them i find them very monotonous , excessively melodramic and overly soft .
it was a good movie when i saw then.. now i feel it sucks ! it bores me to death.i will pray that nobody transfigure into someone like me.

pls dont take it to you for things i said.

reply

you shouldn't have watched so many.

they are great.

reply

yeah i should not have ...cos i cant enjoy them anymore because i can predict how they will end and what will happen etc etc ...
excess of everything is realy bad!

very monotonous , excessively melodramic and overly soft .

Sorry but you really made me laugh. Now it's really not fair to Korean cinema to say that ALL films made there are "monotonous, and overly soft"

It would be more constructive to maybe ask for suggustions on some titles that DONT embody these elements. To which I would reply that there are many Korean films that are anything but overly soft...

If youre interested if you could let me know what Korean films you have seen besides this one, I'd be happy to give you some recommendations.

Some of my personal favorites are the three movies that comprise the vengance trilogy by director Park Chan-Wook, Save the Green Planet, Tale of Two Sisters, and Memories of Murder. Brotherhood of War is also one of my faves however that is melodramatic in spots, though intentionally so.

reply

thats probably because you always watched the same genre... you have to switch from time to time.. or else you are going to get bored easily...

reply

maybe u need to watch more bad movies.. like the chinese one or some american teenage movie
lolz

reply

actually i agree that it is excessively overdramatic. i'm korean, and i find it that even i can hardly take it! lol. every movie has its targets, and i think these types of movies aren't for me. i will be seeing this movie in a few hours, but i'm hoping i enjoy it since it has such a high rating on imdb.

though I see where nmtpaite is coming from,
2006 finally saw a decline in sales of korean dvds and shows..

so according to the bell curve theory, it's reached its cap and unless they start to do something different it'll continue to decline..

personally i can watch these kind of movies a billion times over, but these are the statistics.

" I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code. "

reply

The decline in sales has nothing to do with the content or quality of the movies, or changing tastes. It has everything to do with the ease of illegal downloads.

Yeah funny enough, I just googled "a momen..." in Mozilla and the entry listed "a moment to remember drama", so i hit enter, and the first page that showed up had links to streaming the movie...Ahoy matie!

"future events such as these will affect you in the future"

reply

Watch The Scarlett Letter and then talk about overly soft Korean dramas.
