What's with Jed (Ted) cheating on-screen IN PREVIEW?

I can't be the only person bothered by the scene where Brett finds Jed (or Ted)
with another woman who happens to be in her favorite leather pants. Which brings
to mind me wondering when SMG's body-double is used. And yet (for my 2nd peeve),
what's with Jed being called Ted in the park when she goes to break up with him?
If you're still reeling from these (& OTHER movies' TRAILER trash) problems, like me, or need clarification, re: pl. ease.

Your not the only one with a problem with trailers. Too many trailers dumb down the movies they are advertising, they release too many spoilers, and frequently alter the tone or intent of a movie.

You're not kidding. I MISSED watching the BtVS series when originally broadcast.
NOT because it was unavailable. But because the advertising was so appalling!!
That ugly mix of hip & scary ALWAYS ads nauseam to a tired, narrow genre of throw
-away plots and disposable 'talent'. There wasn't a hint of depth to the show,
by way of the diminishing commerciality surrounding it. I thought one would've
been NUTS to watch Buffy. I didn't have any friends to nutcrack the hype for me.
Now I see Buffy as my savior. Once the ads were gone, I was able to see Whedon
for what he is. Lets hope ugly hype never disguises THIS superhero of heroines.
The Helm of the Hellmouth is about to 'undress' another doll's soul on-screen.

I agree it was distracting when I saw the trailer later but I thought about it and maybe its a deleted scene. They did say he was gonna stay living with her for a bit & maybe he brought the new girl [isnt it the same chick from the movies?] and she just gets upset because theyre having sex in her apartment & shes wearing her lingerie.

I hate how IMDb signatures look like part of the post.

The movie looked like it was cut and hacked to death! I'm not surprised if there were a lot of subplots dropped, and this was probably not at all the script the actors signed on to.

The most telling sign it was edited are there sorry chapter flash cards such as "I SEE YOU" that pop up for no significance but to try to move the story along in a coherent manner.

Jed wasn't cheating on Brett. When they broke up, Brett agreed to let Jed crash at her place. Then you also have to remember that Brett meets Petal for the first time after she and Jed have already broken up. Remember the scene with Archie/Brett at the movies and they come out and see Petal and Jed in line?

Think back to the scene where Brett catches Archie cheating. After she leaves the apartment dismayed, she is shown riding around heartbroken in the limo, wearing a purple top and soaked from the rain. In the trailer scene, she is wearing that same purple top and she is soaked from the rain. She is upset because she comes home to find a person who is basically a stranger trying on her clothes after she just had her heart broken by Archie. If the trailer scene hadn't of been cut from the movie, it would have taken place right after seeing Brett in the limo. For the sake of the movie, it should of been cut because it added nothing to the plot and would have slowed the pacing down. However, it was a good scene to use for the trailer because it could be shown out of context to make it seem like Brett was a girl down on her luck when it comes to love.

Trust me, I edit trailers for a living. The person who cut the trailer had to establish Brett as a character who had bad luck in love and was ready to meet someone new. So they used that scene to make it seem like she was cheated on. However, if you go back and pay attention to the movie, you will realize that Jed never cheated on her. It was simply meant to appear that way in the trailer.

I noticed that too! However if you remember correctly he did cheat on her in either Switzerland or Sweden over the summer.
Anyway they do that a lot with movies, where they'll show a clip but it never appears in the actually movie.
