A question for those who have seen it...

I don't like the endings of movies given away before I see them. Does this movie do that? I know it shows clips from alot of different movies. And im really eager to see it, but still...I don't like spoilers.

Thanks.

It's a documentary so it doesn't give away its own ending.

Oh, wait you meant the endings of OTHER movies. I believe the answer is yes but not many. Maybe just one or two and they tend to be movies paople know the ending to already. I am drawing a blank but I definately remember there was one example. But like a said it was a movie everyone know the end of like that movie about wars in space where it turns out that the bad guy is the parent of one of the other character.

Don't let that scare you away. This is a great documentary and well worth the look. The only thing is the next time you watch a movie you will spend the first five minutes analysing the editing.

Only ending that was given away was Titanic. But if you haven't seen that movie yet, you must have been living under a rock.

It also gives away the ending of Bonnie & Clyde, but I think most people expected what befell B&C to befall them. Not that I am saying they got shot or anything, because maybe they didn't. Maybe they ran away to Mexico and started a flower shop. It could happen

to the original question, I'd say no...in fact, the opposite...

Because of this documentary, I actually went back and watched a lot of classic movies I had never seen, like Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now, Brazil, etc- thankfully I work for a University and so get to check these DVD's out from the Library, but I think most big libraries will have most of the films you see in this doc.

Even if they show you a clip from the end of a film, (I think they do show a few endings, Easy rider, also I believe the infamous death scene from Bonnie and Clyde, etc) I think it'll more make you want to see the actual film, rather than ruin the film. It also shows the influence that the early days of cinema still holds on our films now (Eisenstien is prominently talked about as his early Russian films like "Battleship Potemkin" have influenced filmmakers even until today)

This is a very good documentary, it's pretty entertaining and interesting for anyone who wants to be involved in filmmaking in any way.

Just got this DVD. We hear good things about it. A pet peeve; if someone has not seen a film that has been out for a while and complains that someone "spoiled" it for them, it's not the person who explained the story's fault! It ain't a perfect world. Just saying.....

And I think maybe Citizen Kane. Or gives away something important.

Gave away the ending of Easy Rider too, if I recall correctly. But still worth watching.
