anyone else notice...

that this movie seemed like it was very inspired my "28 days later..."? i mean, it was raining throughout, they "turned" instantly, and in the end, they find some sort of safety, yet you find that they want to rape the only girl and that they're crazy. also, in the end, they all get attacked IN THE RAIN. you also have a femal character that automatically knows everything about them, and is bossy. i may just be picky.

reply

No i saw the similarities as well. Especially the almost instant change from man to zombie.

An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it's the only thing in the world worth having.

There's plenty of other zombie movies where they turn instantly. And lots of other zombie movies have rain in them as well.

reply

like what?

reply

There were very clear similarities.

The jerky DV cinematography was also straight out of '28 Days Later'.

Still, this movie had some nice bits to it and some potential. Pity it the makers couldn't follow through.

reply

This movie was actually pretty good. I expected a suckfest, but I was actually surprised.

reply

Is it worth four bucks or should I wait for it to come on HBO?

reply

They didn't turn instantly in 28 Days Later. >_<

reply

uh, are you kidding me? yes they sure as hell did.

please go watch it again.

So what if its like 28 days later.
I was surprise how good this movie was being low budget and DTV.
U don't get many of these above advenge movies now days.
So the acting was OK and the gore was limted and their's simuler ref to 28 days later, but that did not stop me enjoying it a lot more than i through!!!
I give this movie 7/10 a great little zombie movie, better then a lot at the moment.

reply

[deleted]

i mean, yes, i do give it props for being a well-filmed dtv, but, still... with that in mind, they could have give it a little more originality. than again, the last original zombie-esque movie i saw WAS 28 days later...

i guess it's time to move away from the zombie genre, give it another 10 years of break, and bring it back out again.

reply

[deleted]

yes, resident evil was good, though it was no original.

No, I didn't think this movie and 28 Days Later were similar. The main reason why is because 28 Days Later was moderately enjoyable. On the other hand, watching this movie actually lowered my quality of life to an extent.

---The tolerance of storyline inconsistency is why we have so many bad movies today.

It is an example of what happens when a director sees a good movie like 28 days later and wants it to be his, so he makes his own version of it,

Agreed.. This movie recreates countless and I mean countless scenes down to the camera work of 28 Days Later ... That is what ruin the movie for me. Everytime they recreated a scene from 28 days Later .. I was like oh please! I don't want to see what happens if 28 Days Later was done with bad actors and on a really super tight budget (possibily less than 500,000) and with a horrible script.

I can see a film being inspired by another film because 28 Days Later was definitely inspire by some movies of the past but Severed carbon caopies 28 Days Later down to the nitty gritty that it's annoying. And the scenes they try to recreate turns out ot be stupid because although both film deals with what happen if you are trap with infected beast/zombies ...in 28 Days Later it was under different circumstances with the main characters. It seems this film was only made to ride the coat tails of 28 days Later... This movie despite bad actors could had been decent if the script was done right ....

Oh, and did anyone notice that the lead girl looks exactly like the animal activist in 28 Days Later? And that one of the dude in thie movie looks like he could be Cillian Murphy's younger brother? I am surprise he did not play Tyler..

reply

omg, i am so glad so many people wrote on my blog entry.

THANKYOU!!! IT'S A COMPLETE RIPOFF OF 28 DAYS LATER...

NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

I agree with most everyone one here that this movie was a total 28 DAYS LATER rip off, no doubt.

reply

Yes I agree also, definetlely inspired by 28 Days later. It occured to me as soon as the showed us the tree huggers.

Animal activists release plauge = tree huggers sabotage trees
Normals trying to escape, but can't get out.
etc, etc.

I actually like my zombie movies with a touch of comedy, like "Return of the Living Dead" where the half-dogs begin to bark and wiggle or when the zombie grabs the 2-way radio and asks, "Send more para-medics".

Original zombie movies are harder and harder to come by. Whats next, zombies in space? Rocky vs. Zombies? Indiana Jones?

Check out the Australian "Undead" (2003) if you have a chance, it is sometimes amusing and a little off too. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339840/

well undead is campy
not gona spoil it but i do think the welded shotgun arre cool.
but its gets a bit to scyfi

28days later was surely briliant

and this movie severed well it was not as bad as people here say.
and the rest/no rest part is also in the original dawn of the dead where they recreate a srt of rest but it gets bleeped up by those bleeping bikers.
same as what happens in 28 days later and in this one severed.
so many movies are inspired by onantother.
that doesnt make the mvie bad or a rip off (although i must say severed looks to much like 28 days later, at the dinner scene i was almost expecting the fat guy to go did you knew these eggs are rotten ?)
and by way of comapresing the part with the guy talking about god and the apocolipse was inspired by the dirten dozen.and the part where there in that cabin like thing, hello cabin fever.
so i think you should not go like ohw that movie looks like that .

and the activist free the monkey and the activist spiking the three you cant compare becuas in 28 days later you see it happen and in severed you hear she
did it at the end.
and she does look like the one in 28 days later maybe the same actress , some actresses get only asted for particular roles.

buti do think people should see it
and that ***** dies at the end is a nice lil twist from the original picking off the who will survive .

reply

When Tyler first comes to the logging camp and goes "Hallo, Halllllloooo!" I couldnt help but thinkin I had seen it somewhere before and like you say it just keeps coming. The rescue, the moral problems with killing. and so on.

"I say it, so it must be so."

reply

Even the sound of the zombies was the same. That animalistic growl like they're gurgling blood. You hear it before you see them coming.
