Why no blood?

It seems the latest trend in all of the FPS games now especially ones based on WWII, Vietnam, etc, have no blood at all. It's really disappointing because blood adds the necessary realism to any game where there are guns or explosions involved. I have a theory that they do it because they want to get a teen rating so they can sell to a larger amount of people. It would be nice to see actual violence in these games because when someone gets shot 27 times, I would assume that at least a drop of blood would be spilt. This is especially sad because whenever the next generation consoles come out with newer FPS games, all the graphics are going to wasted on bland, boring enemies that just fall over when hit with multiple rounds of bullets. I don't have a sickening desire for blood but when I play a game that's supposed to put you in the middle of war, I expect full visual realism.

Necessary realism? kinda like LOTR:ROTK? Halo(2)?

Come on, seriously the endurance/stamina/strength/etc ... with all these games means you need to abandon 'reality' before you start to play. It's all for fun right?

If anything, complain about checkpoints and auto-save games - that's what really pisses me off.

While you're in the game you can checkpoint back - BUT - if you try to quit then you'll restart the entire chapter. Now THAT really sucks.

I was just found this tonight: playing the Aachen level and when I shot a dead German point blank, blood sprayed out.
