Am I the only person who liked this? (spoilers)

Sometimes the acting doesnt have to be good.
I thought the story was decent and the kills were pretty good. It was also pretty cool how everyone knew the killer the whole time and he wasnt some masked killer.

plus, method man gets a nice crowbar to the chin

Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time. It's just not worth it.

reply

I liked it as well....I honestly am surprised it's getting skewered as much as it is compared to all the horrible crappy horror we've been getting lately (Boogeyman, Cursed, etc.) It was old school fun and I enjoyed it.

reply

u both know nothing. good kills? WRONG. They didnt show any kills really. Oldschool fun? WRONG. You guys are horror newjacks, you know absolutly nothing about horror movies.

You need to get over yourself. Who are you to tell someone else that they have no taste if they enjoy a movie? Nobody, that's who. If they liked Venom then they got their money's worth and had a good time. What's it to you. It takes a real moron to lurk on message boards, just waiting for the opportunity to call people names.

This movie blew, it's censored hollywood trash, backed by a lame vodoo story. If you wanna see real horror check out some old 80's slashers.

I loved it. I just like to see a large cast get skewered in interesting ways. I thought the cast was pretty diverse. Mr. Jangles was a pretty unique villain, even if he was slightly derivative. Although it was cliched, it also broke a few cliches, such as the killer throwing chains at his victims or removing part of the house with his tow truck. I thought the whole voodoo/mambo angle was pretty neat, despite people saying it was stupid. It was just what I want from a brutal slasher. Brainless, relentless fun.

reply

I finally just got a chance to see it and I thought it was pretty good as well. I never expected that he would rip the front off of the house and the death of the character Rachel was pretty innovative. Others can hate on this movie all they want, but their refusal to promote the more violent, R-rated horror films is exactly why they are quickly becoming extinct.

I keep reading all of these negative remarks about the performances too and I honestly have to say that I didn't see anything wrong with them. I will say that I was glad that the hothead son and the rich snobs were offed fairly quickly. Oh, and who else was shocked when the token boyfriend got killed? Whoa is all I can say to that.

this movie isnt violent. violent movies are quickly becoming extinct yes, but this movie does not fall into that category. This movie is tame. Todays standards on violence suck, and it is hilarious how someone thinks a movie like this is violent.

Glad I could make you laugh. I didn't say it was the most violent, they did cut away from a few of the kills at the last minute. However, this movie had more violence in it than the recent crop of PG-13 movies that are taking over, which is exactly my point. I could go on all day about your prowling of these boards just waiting to tout your superiority and criticize others over what they enjoy watching, but I won't. That's your life wasted.

Take care of yourself.

which parts of your posts were supposed to be funny? and of course this movie had better kills than pg13 movies if they had decent kills then they wouldnt be pg13 thats a *beep* given but a crappy movie is still a crappy movie no matter how you try and dress it up. dawn of the dead was a great r rated horror movie this was not. o and thanks for wishing us well

Mr. Chipmunk,

Please have the brains to read previous posts before coming on here and being a stupid little punk.

Also, thanks for completely restating my post and then having the audacity to pretend that I hadn't already said it. My point is exactly that the gore/violence in this movie was much better than what one would see in the new PG-13 breed of horror movies. Nothing more, nothing less. So, before you go getting back up on the defensive for ABSOLUTELY no reason, please ensure there is a reason for you being a total prick. In this case, there definitely is no reason.

Thanks and TAKE CARE.

this movie isnt violent. Are you some kind of scientist coming to the conclusion that a rated R movie will be more "violent" and "gory" than a PG-13 movie? It doesnt take a genius to figure that out. You are coming across as thinking this movie is violent, and all I am saying is that this movie is not too violent at all.

This is ridiculous. My point has been acknowledged and agreed with and then attacked. I have already stated that I am not trying to reinvent the wheel. My only observation is that PG-13 horror is taking over while the two of you are complaining about one of the only R rated horror films released this year. Again, I am not saying that it is too violent or the most violent, but at least this one shows blood and most of the kills. You may not agree as you are too snobbish to acknowledge that this breed of movies is dying, even if this movie isn't your cup of tea or isn't violent enough for you, but you are not helping the cause for more violent horror films by spreading your garbage that contributes to their failure.

I thought the movie was pretty good, myself. I mean..I'll admit I knew nothing about it and the main reason I went to see it was for Jonathan Jackson...but I enjoyed it.
Normally through any movie, especially horror movies...I'm still and mellow and calm through the whole thing - jump scenes and all. But for some strange reason this movie wound me up. I was moving all over the place, wanting so much to yell at the screen! lol I was biting at my nails (something I never do) and I was just really into it. So, I think any movie to get that kind of a reaction out of me must have been decent.

And personally, I think the idea of Ray actually running towards the characters intsead of the typical slow moving killers was much creepier.

I liked it too! I wasn't expection much, but I really liked it!!
I never even remember this being in the movie theaters, but I rented it
anyway because I like horror movies and I really like Meagan Good &
Agnes Bruckner!

Anyway, I thought it was pretty good. Some parts were cheesy and kinda lame,
but overall the movie was a good horror flick. The acting wasn't bad either,
especially in horror-movie standards.
