Hiding Brand Names?

Was there a reason why some brand names were (sort-of) hidden? Like the TV in the Bensons' kitchen. For whatever reason, they put tape over the under-screen brand badge, but didn't cover the "Aquos" name @ the top. Same w/ the little Trinitron set that Mitch was watching. And the kid changing the batteries; they were masked out, but still looked quite a lot like Energizers.
