Question about ending... [may contain spoilers]

I taped it off the telly, but the tape ran out just when Mary's giving her speech in the court (after she and the other blokes have been captured and returned to England). Can anyone tell me what happened?

yeh... well... then the judge chenged his mind after the speech and said your freee... and then she left. everyone was cheering.. yeh.. and then one of the guys went back to Australia as a free man or sumthing like tht and the other man went to look for his sister. mary bryant went back to her family in cornwell. and wen she's walking down this hill, she disapears and then the movie finishes,

Thanks so much. So I guess Mary Bryant just disappeared from history.

reply

yeh i think so. because i think i read sumwhere that after that part, there was no record of her..

It was really sad at the end, because she flashed back to that moment when Charlotte was running towards her just after they escaped, and Will was holding Emmanuel. It said at the the end she got re-married, but never had any more children

Be nice to nerds. Chances are, you'll end up working for one :P

reply

just to let ya'll know, at the end it said,
'mary re-joined her family in cornwall, where, although it was thought she got remarried, she never had more children.'

reply

her speech was so moving though...."Ive lost all that is dear to me, so kill me. But not these innocent men beside me."
