Mary loves Clarke???

Does anyone else think that Mary did actually love Clarke?
We all know that he loved her, but did she feel anything for him?
I don't think that she was just using him.
I think that she felt something for him.

I think at first mary was very taken with him, but after he rejected her, she realised she truely loved will (who had also saved her life) By the end of it all, she hated him, and he hated her, though for a long time, he did love her. When mary went back to him, it was for her children, will and the others, so they could escape, not because she liked him.

I must now continue my Gerry stalking....

I Agree, i don't think mary loved Clarke. Will was the one man she loved. she just used Clarke.

reply

I think she loved Will but was also very attracted to Clarke as well.

No, I don't think Mary loves him.
Indeed she was using him.
But hey, she was just trying to survive and feed her children!
One thing I don't understand is that how come Clarke didn't know Mary was using him. I mean, it was so obvious, wasn't it??
Why did she come to his door with her children all of a sudden?
Maybe Clarke knew at heart, but he refused to believe. He would rather believe that she came back for him.
In the end at the court, Clarke looked SO lonely and it broke my heart!

In the beginning, Mary didn't really love Will though, did she? She married him so they could build a house, and not have to live in a tent. Who knows, if Clarke hadn't reacted the way he did when he found out Mary was pregnant, maybe she would have been in love with him instead. No doubt Will was a great guy, but Clarke was pretty nice to her too.

Proud rumrunner!

Yeah I thought that was quite weird as she suddenly decided she loved him because they were married, but he was good to her... but I do think she had feelings for Clarke as well at some points.

No no no!! Stop slashing things!!

I think she was in love with Clarke but chose Will because he accepted her for who she was and she wanted to make Clarke jealous after he whipped her friend which made her realize he wasn't the man for her and fell in love with Will in the end.

She didnt love Clarke, but I think she would have eventually fallen for him had he not reacted the way he did with her pregnancy (I mean, who wouldnt? the man was a dreamboat, and would have provided for her and her baby). But Clarke freaked out and it was never the same again.

Which ultimately makes a pretty tragic story.Had Clarke been more open minded, and less judgemental, both he and Mary could have been happy.
