languages and how you say it.

Hello!

I just saw Sweet Land, and I loved it! So in love with the movie right now... hehe. I am from Peru, so I don't speak a word of German or Norwegian. Although, I am trying to learn Swedish... but that's going a bit slow all on my own. ^^

Anyway, I thought Reaser did a pretty good job at talking gibberish. I mean, we can all talk gibberish, but to give it the adequate tones to express anger or exasperation, or excitement.

The trailer doesn't really work for me... I find it too long, and tells me the whole story, but when it begins with her having a fit in german/norwegian/gibberish, I thought that was great. I totally believed she was speaking it... I mean, there are even times when people speak Spanish, and I don't get it because they either speak too fast, or use so much slang... that well, everything is lost in translation.

I even told my mom that I thought she wasn't really speaking in those languages, but the way she delivered the lines was all that mattered. And it wasn't like she was talking in Spanish and mispronouncing words, or saying TRALALALALA to make it pass like it was Norwegian... coz I clearly heard "Norge" in her speech haha. That's all I know from Norway in Swedish~~ xD and I know they are pretty similar languages:P

I am glad you finally got the DVD from amazon and you liked it.

I don't speak german or Norwegian so it was easier for me to enjoy the movie, but I understand people who understand those languages get destructed.

I agree, Elizabeth Reaser was great. The way she acted with her expression - that was just amazing. And she is so beautiful and I can easily understand why Olaf fell in love with her (although I am a woman - haha);

One of my favorite scene was when Inge argues with Olaf in the beginning.. I have no idea what she is saying but it's sooo funny, and when Olaf says something back.. that part really cracks me up.

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie - it sounds like it was worh the wait.

Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

It was really worth waiting and buying the DVD to watch this film.

There are so many memorable moments in the film... I mean, just looking at it was an experience for me. I loved some many of the shots

I loved it when Reaser went on the rant, and Alan Cumming was like "are you sure you wanna marry this one?" xD

Or the part where Inge was supposed to bathe first, and Kingston is like "okay, you first, Inge"

And Reaser sees all the kids lining up... "no, I'm okay"

I loved the film so much, I made my mom and my dad watch it haha - and I'm getting all my friends to watch it.
