Werner Herzog didn't need the ace of diamonds to beat Woody Harrelson

Werner could have won the hand also with Pocket 9s, Pockets 8s, or Pockets 6s for a full house, Pocket 2s for 4 of a kind, or 5&7 or 7&10 of diamonds for a straight flush.

Phil Gordon should have his commentator's license taken away. (...or at the very least, he should have told the director to change the community cards so a full house or straight flush weren't possible)

I'm actually a little disappointed by this.

I think all of us poker fans noticed and remarked that during the movie. :D

How nice of you to put a spoiler in the freaking title of your post, moron.

I am usually pretty forgiving of goofs in a movie but with Phil Gordon making the call I thought that was an easy mistake to fix. There were so many community cards that could have been used to keep that scene more legitimate. I'm disappointed in Phil Gordon.

I think the point is to show he was a "cheat"... Cheats are going to palm off ACES, not low numeric cards where they have to "wait" for that perfect straight flush flop.

At the moment that it came up the German may have been cheating, why not check the cards on the table? Lainie even said, ?I think I folded the Ace of diamonds?. If she was right, then they would have seen more than one, or at the very least check all the cards in the dealers stack and all on the table. The German played the one up his sleeve, so there was now more than one. The cheat had happened less than a minute before all realized what may have been going on and all the cards, discarded or not, were right in front of everyone!
