Absense of brake fluid and long time taken to call the cops
These were major questions which were not resolved. So, how and why did Simo reached his conclusion of suicide? Didn't these doubts came to his mind even once?
shareJust going by some things I know about the real story...there is some speculation that perhaps Toni drained (or more likely had someone drain) the brake fluid in an attempt to injure Reeves. I suppose another explanation could be that there was a hole and the mechanic just missed it in his inspection. It is not like they got a second opinion.
According to the people in the house that night, they were really drunk and sobered up a bit before calling the police.
I guess neither point was ever explained in the film, but like everything else, it is all circumstantial evidence and not definitive proof of murder when all is said and done.
