Jennifer Connelly should totally have played the Katie Holmes role

Very good movie but I didn't think Katie Holmes fit in with the rest of the cast and espcially with Aaron. Heather is supposed to be head explodingly attrative and ultra intelligent but Kate seems neither, her range only includes playing the cute teen she did for eons on Dawson's Creek.

On the other hand Jennifer Connelly could pair up perfectly with Aaron (she's closer to his age for one), making the supposed chemistry more believable. Also she's imo absolutely breathtaking and perfect for the double role of seducing and manipulating Eckhart. Goes without saying no one plays intelligent women like Ms. Connelly or how good an actress she is.

The movie was still great but this part seemed tailormade for Connelly, wouldn't you say?

I agree with you, in fact, I think every character KH has done and will do, should've and should be done by Jennifer Connelly...

Is this why they replaced Holmes for Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight? So they don't relive their so called chemistry.

Chemistry? With Christian Bale you mean? I have yet to see Katie Holmes have chemistry with anything, she's just a name with a cute face and a crooked smile.

The movie was great. Too bad the part of the journalist was spoiled by the unfortunate casting of Holmes . I was actually looking forward to seeing the irresistible reporter with amazing breasts they were talking about, and when Katie appeared, I was like...what the heck?

katie holmes is incapable of playing a WOMAN, let alone a seductress...she needs to learn that acting effectively means that sometimes you change your mannerisms and behaviour - especially if you're normal behaviour/mannerisms are that of a child...

The choice for Holmes wasn't intuitive to me either, but maybe they weren't looking for someone so obvious. There's something to be said for subtlety.

I don't think Katie is a bad actress, but I do think she was miscast for this part. You kinda know what you're gonna get when you cast KH.
