Finished this game, never played 1 or 2, are they worth picking up?

hello there,
just completed this game on my ps2 and thought it was great (espically Michael Ironside's voice acting). I never played the first two and have to say I didn't feel like I was left out of the story because of it. Yet I wanted to ask if it is worth going back to them (since i see them on sale all the time anyhow). Are they superior to Chaos theory? I'm sure they're good games but if its just more of the same I'm not sure it would be worthwhile. Please let me know what your opnions are.

Expect a lot of fun with Pandora Tomorrow. Equally and visually as good as Chaos Theory. The first one might be a letdown because there are less moves and other stuff and is very basic in gameplay. Also abit more dodgy since you have to select lockpick and optic cable manually from the menu rather than it pop up on the menu when facing a door. Also the graphics is lower quality than PT and CT. But all three has a great story. Pick them up and play them i'd say.
Story wise none of the three are related. so you don't miss out on nothing.

thanks for the advice. it looks like ill pick up Pandoras Tomorrow but as for the first one if the controls are as limited as u say it would make for a frustrating experience. thanks again

Personally, I like the first Splinter Cell more than Pandora Tomorrow. Chaos Theory and the last gen and current gen Double Agent games are the best.

You may find yourself disappointed with PT and the original because the gameplay isn't as good as CT and DA.
