Never a movie, then?

That'd be disappointing, if "they" never made a movie about this. I'm talking a really good representation of character and all. There's no doubt that Ironside's voice would have to be used for it, with every nuance of his smart-aleck attitude. I've heard the rumors about the game "Halo" possibly being made into a movie, directed by Peter Jackson... why not Splinter Cell? Considering the amount of CG that would HAVE to go into making "Halo" a movie, they could probably make SC at about half the cost. Thoughts?

No, they wouldn't use Michael Ironsides voice, unless maybe the movie was an animation. It would be silly to use an actor and over-dub another voice, it would be pretty stupid actually.

I like his voice and portrayal of the character, but that would ruin things for me. I hear they asked him if he would be willing to actually play the part in the movie and he said no. He's getting a little old for this sort of thing I guess. But if they made the movie a few years ago it wouldn't have made much difference, but he's like I think in his early sixties now, that's a little to old to be playing a Ninja Super Spy.

They were supposed to make a movie, Peter Burg was supposed to direct, it's not looking good right now, but we can always hope. Even Halo is on Hiatus. What I don't get is they make, Mortal Combat, Tomb Raider, Doom, Street Fighter, Blood Rayne, etc., but they have games with far more depth to the stories like Halo and Splinter Cell and they hesitate to make them into movies. It makes no sense.

Dammit, when I just got used with the thought that Splinter Cell will be Filmed and suddenly heard there is no Movie and stuff. That sucks. I mean when they announced that Splinter Cell is gonna be Filmed, were they high? It was Tom Clancy`s Idea wasnt it? What happened.
Now it looks bad. I agree Ironside is a bit too old for the role, though if they ever make a Splinter Cell Movie, he deserves a small role in it. I love that Man`s voice. I have played only 2 parts of Splinter Cell in English but even in his Movies there is this specific tone when he talks which I really like to hear.

Halo... depth in story? I thought the story was far from its strong side.
