Call It Anythin'

The video seems to claim that Miles' Isle of Wight performance was entitled "Call It Anything." This is only partially true. Here is what actually happened:

In 1971, Columbia Records released a three-LP album called THE FIRST GREAT ROCK FESTIVALS OF THE SEVENTIES: ATLANTA/ISLE OF WIGHT. One of the tracks on the album was an edited verion of Miles' performance from the Isle of Wight. The performance was a medley of various Bitches Brew items such as "Spanish Key" and "Beginnings."

When the album producers approached Miles for a name of the soon-to-be released track, he responded "call it anythin!!" Apparently Miles couldn't be bothered. So the producers decided to use Miles' sharp response as the track's title.

So in reality, "CALL IT ANYTHING" was just the exclusive title for the 1971 track. However it has more currently being used as the name for the entire performance.
