Unnecessary Sex Scenes.

I saw this the other day and thought it was really good. Mikura was a great heroine with a cool sense of humour, the only problem I saw with it though was the two unnecessary and graphic sex scenes, they weren't really essential to the plot in any way.
I'm not a prude it's just that it felt too much like watching hardcore porn at points rather than a well scripted thriller.

i havent seen this yet, but im pretty sure the sex scenes were because it was written by a guy who'd only really worked on hentai before, so he wanted to keep something kind've graphic in there because... well.... just wanted to... lol, the TV show Mezzo DSA i've seen about 2 episodes of that, thats alright, no sex scenes in it at all i dont think.

it's a hentai of course there are goign to be graphic sex scenes. As for the series, there are no sex scenes, although it can be somewhat sexual. Also it must be noted, that I am 8 episodes in and the series is pretty crappy. Not the worst, but far from the best.

Yeah, the sex scenes were pretty graphic. Well, all-out graphic, but, they were also nicely done. The flow and stuff, I mean.

I mean it is bad. Ya know. Like bad as in bad. Like, I'm bad, Jamal, you know it. -Elvira, M.O.T.D.

I thought it was nasty and you should feel nasty having seen it!

What amazes and upsets me is that almost no one mentioned that they're both rape scenes. First scene starts out consensual and then goes into rape-ville. The second scene is plain gang rape showing the victim crying and pleading for mercy. The fact that it's an android makes the scene even more grotesque because it shows the director's desire to have a rape scene (this way the main character doesn't have to go through it).

I also hate the light hearted approach all the characters have to the events. After the rape the android tells her two companions that her rapists were kinda mean to her and someone responds, "I'm sorry." Not "two men put their cocks in my mouth after I cried for them to stop."

I was hoping someone in this thread would respond about how the sex scenes aren't simply about sex but sexual assault. However, it would appear that nobody really cares.

And sure you could say that "well the violence isn't taken seriously either." But the violence is crazy over the top unrealistic, what with people's heads getting slammed through concretes and having cars fall down on top of them. Rape happens to women every day all over the world exactly like it happens in this anime, but no one cares. I guess it's okay if it's hentai. It's just a cartoon. Etc etc. Except, I wonder how this affects people that get used to watching crap like this. Evidently people become completely desensetized since it's all just "sex" to them.

Technically, it wasn't rape.
The sexbot was programmed to ACT like it's being raped.
It didn't display any sentience or even any particularly advanced AI, which means that it was just a machine serving its function.

Even the line "They were so cruel to me" was probably part of the programming, in order to make the "reunion" seem more realistic. That's why they simply said "I'm sorry."
It didn't describe the rape because it had no way of actually knowing how it was being used.

Though the whole thing WAS kind of a cheap tactic to show the main character apparently having sex with two men without actually traumatising/robbing the innocence from the character.
It's just that anyone who continues watching the episode will see that it was NEVER rape... and it's actually a pretty cool revelation.

Maybe I missed something, but that sounds like a bit of a farfetched assumption. Where did you get the actual evidence from the film that the sex bot was programmed to act out the rape?

I think that regardless of deep analysis, most saw someone getting screwed 10 different ways, screaming and crying, and then thought "Wow that scene was so faking hot." Okay, so maybe I'm biased because I'm aquainted with people who've been raped in real life. I still think the scene is bloody sick in what is otherwise an interesting movie.

Huh. I thought that she was pretending to enjoy it because they threatened to hurt her even more. Something about her facial expression when she said "I almost came" just didn't seem like a sign of pleasure. I don't know. Maybe you're right. The scene just didn't feel that way to me.

I've seen a bit of hentai before where the pleasurable elements were pretty clear. This scene appeared more like something from Perfect Blue.
