I actually loved this movie.

I don't see where all the hate comes from.

My thing is, I don't think the movie is perfect, but most of the complaints are actually pretty idiotic. The acting is good, the ending is in NO way happy, the themes are interesting and it took the same story but gave a different perspective on it.

My only real complaint is how crappy the editing was at times. The choppy montages were pretty dumb- except for when Kidman killed the cop. That actually worked in terms of her being stuck in the moment and her thoughts not catching up to the fact that she was running away. I liked that, but other times, it did get annoying.

So did I. I have had no problems with none of the Body Snatchers versions.

10/10 Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1955)
09/10 Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
07/10 Body Snatchers (1993)
08/10 The Invasion (2007)

2007 version is the most believable of them all.

I actually think the movie is creepy as hell and I love the editing.

I do love this movie too. Even Nicole can't ruin it. Plus seeing bond and felix leiter together is always good. The best part is Veronica Cartwright. She's always a joy to watch and only adds to the sheer entertainment of the whole film. If there's anything about the film I don't like its the dead dog part. And the cruelty to dogs.

I like the plot. The earlier three versions did a great job with it, seeming to make a statement about the times ---- the original 1950's version being a comment about McCarthyism and the early 1990's version appearing to be a statement about AIDS.

This one missed the mark for me. It was so focused on action that it didn't bother to do much else. It was strange. This one kept dropping references to various conflicts going around the world but never seemed to make it any point about it.

They didn't even show the dead dog in the garbage, it was just a story told by that woman. And even if they did it's not like they actually killed a real dog and threw it in the garbage. If you are this overly sensitive about things maybe you just shouldn't watch movies like this to start with.

I haven't seen the movie but I've seen others that depict bad things happening to animals and it really bothers me too. Clearly no real animals are harmed making these movies. My point being that to enjoy a movie, you need to suspend disbelief and to care about one or more characters. When good things happen for them we're happy, and when bad things happen, we suffer. For many of us the pain is too much when an animal or other innocent suffers. Some movies depend on that and in those cases, you're absolutely right to caution that we may not want to watch them. But then there are lots of movies for which that's not crucial, so we'd appreciate it if they didn't do that.

I loved the movie as well. Like others have mentioned, all of the Body Snatcher movies have been great IMO.
