Treadwell Had No Respect Towards Bears

Even pet experts tell you to never go up to a dog/cat and try to touch it. You either wait for it to come to you or you hold your hand out, let it smell your hand and see the animal's reaction. Same with wild animals and especially with them you never touch any of their young. You wait patiently to see if the mother brings her young to you in such a way as to clearly indicate that you can touch it-and only after many months or even years of you knowing each other.
I saw many times where Treadwell wrongly went to bears and, uninvited, touched them and even their cubs. Anyone doing these things isn't going to get the respect of the animal.
When he went to the area that was dangerous, I think he honestly believed these bears he didn't know nor did they know him would be similarly tolerant. He was greatly mistaken.
The good he did: Taught all of us what not to do around bears.

naw he was crazy. i think he did too much meth back in the day and fried his brain. went into the whole adventure with a suicidal mindset. it was a miracle he survived as long as he did

reply

Not suicidal. Disrespectful of authority.

He didn't teach us anything. We all (or at least those of us with common sense) already knew not to do what he did around bears.

reply

It is not just common sense that is needed but education and training by a reputable person.
