Should I even see this movie?

I loved Farenheit 911, and I was amazed at the fact some people were like "BOO LIES LIES!" at it, because it answered all the questions I was dying to know- the Iraq War, what Bush did, Why this happened, why America was like they are, and I was extremely satisfied with the work and applauded Moore's work, as well as his others. I was expecting the American population to be up in arms about the issues raised, but instead they turn their back on the work and go to insult Moore, and instad recommend this movie?

When I saw this I automatically thought to myself this is the Government's work, just like they fabricated and edited Bush's army records, etc. I mean, Moore's doco raised some big issues the government had to answer for, so why not make a movie with a big government stamp across Mike Moore's face?

So answer me this, should I really question Mike Moore's doco because the whole thing was 'lies' (even though it's highly respected and applauded) or should I actually give this response a chance. Is it just a brainwashing attempt or an underminded docomentry? Is it worth seeing?

Well unlike MM movie the statements in here are backed up by fact. If you are not scared of the truth then watch it. Why are you scared to see a different point of view?

I don't know if you watched this film yet, but I would try to spare you the waste of time. It is a truly juvenile rebuttal of Moore's film, never addressing his real points and his main arguments. It is certainly always good to be skeptical and verify the factual evidence someone presents. None of this is done in this mind-numbing piece. The film spends the first 10 minutes calling Moore a liar for saying Bush continued story-time with the students for something like 9 minutes--coming back to say it was only 7. This is essentially the kind of challenge this film presents against Moore's contentions.

It can never hurt to see another point of view. I'm as left as it gets and IMO Moore's film is propaganda. So is this film. Both are filled with half-truths. At least this film balances out the first.

Both films gave me thoughts to chew on and more important further book titles and other information to become more informed than any film ever could.

A six year late reply;

Yes.

There is a very unpatriotic spirit in this nation. Unfortunately much of it was brought on by the Bush cabinet gaming warfare legislation, and effectively putting the USA in a police state position like a lot of other nations that have emergency governments or administrations to combat various forms of terrorism.

That being so, Michael Moore's film is just pure fantasy in terms of why the house let Bush wage war on Iraq and Afghanistan without officially declaring it.

This film does explain the benefits and the actual facts of why we went to war, but does gloss over some of the negative points of the patriot act.

Even so, it's an excellent film and exceptionally informative. Highly recommended.
