Justin Webb (Peep Show) hated doing this movie

Proof:
8.What's the biggest mistake you¹ve ever made?

Webb: Confetti. I had a miserable time making it and I think the finished film is an underwhelming mess. I look forward to its DVD release as ardently as I look forward to appendicitis.

Maybe the movie is garbage then. It's like they put great comedy actors into a movie and just said "Go!". Unscripted sometimes work, sometimes doesn't. I haven't seen the film so my opinion would be void, but is the movie as bad as Webb makes it out to be???

Could you provide a link to back your statement, not just a quote?

It's Robert Webb, not Justin. However, I did hear him say that Confetti was an example of how bad things were when they were improvised- he said that at one of the studio filmings for That Mitchell and Webb Look.

reply

improvisation doesnt mean bad by any means, take curb your enthusiasm, one of the greatest comedies about, and most of chris guests work. i think the problem is neither mitchell or webb are particularly suited to improv, and to be honest i thought robert was pretty funny in Confetti and came out with some great lines. could of done with much less of his wang tho

thats numberwang!

ps. where the hell has "justin" webb come from?

reply

I would guess that Robert Webb hated it even more. And yes its true he wasnt at all happy with the level of nudity thrust upon him and he didnt like the finished movie.

Justin Webb is the BBC's ultra-smooth American correspondent, who recently produced a three-part series for Radio 4 ardently defending US foreign policy from its critics (I didn't hear most of it because I had to throw my radio against a wall with great force halfway through the first installment). I struggle to imagine JW taking his kit off for a movie and, frankly, its not an image that I much relish.

confetti is pretty rubbish, but the sad thing is it's still funnier that his show. puppet...

Anyone looking for a link just look up the film on wikipedia. Also shows that Olivia hated making the film too.

The experience, according to an uncharacteristically grumpy Colman, remains a source of broiling horror. "There were certain chats that took place for an entire year before filming which suggested the nudity wouldn't be quite as awful as it was. I would have felt better about it had I been aware how much was actually going to be on display. It was," she says, glaring at the coffee table, "the worst experience of my life."

I'm also guessing he wasn't pleased when they didn't pixelate his genitals like the director said they would. He definitely wasn't pleased when he found out, at the premiere of the film :P

wait a minute, who's justin webb?!

'it never occurred to me that skin could determine identity'

If that's the case, then both Colman and Webb were incredibly naïve. First lesson an actor should learn: if the director asks you to disrobe on camera but says "don't worry, nothing will be seen in the final cut", then you turn up on set wearing pasties and a flesh colored speedo.

To stand completely naked in front of a camera and not expect that footage to be used is just silly.
