I don't think I could stand to watch this. I love Al Pacino too much. Carlito's Way was wayyyyyyy too good! This stupid dumb dumb DUMBBBB sequel was so unnecessary! Gah!

I was just saying you should not form prejudices against things before you even see them. If you don't keep an open mind, you might miss out on good things. That goes for anything in life.
Jay Hernandez is brilliant in it as is Puff Daddy and the story is good. You don't have to compare it to the original and expect it to be more of the same. The story is just as good, and even though Pacino is my favourite actor (along with Johnny Depp), Hernandez does the role of Carlito justice. They couldn't have had Pacino play the role again because the story is set years before the first film.
My flat mate was determined not to watch this film for the same reasons everyone else gave but I watched it and persuaded him that it was good. He watched it and now he watches it loads because he thinks it's great. Had I not persuaded him, he would never have gotten to see a film that he now really likes.
And aren't all films made to make money?! Anyway both films are based on novels by the same author so I don't know how can you say that.
I suppose you won't watch Hannibal Rising either even though that's also a really good film.
