AWESOME!

This is just to say that although I am seventeen years old, I've been watching this movie all day long. The animation is great and the songs are so catchy. My favorite is "I Am a Girl Like You." It's so funny when she says, "Well, at least you're not an indentured servant!" So anyone who claims that this movie is A. sexist and promoting bad values to little girls because, oh no, Barbie is in it, or B. bad because it was straight to video, I suggest that they take another look at it.

Okay, I'm done.

I agree.

I'm 16, and have watched the movie all the way through at least three times - it really is well done. My sisters and I love it! The songs are really catchy.

I agree I was hanging around the video store and saw it, and gave it a try and I liked it so much I bought it. I'm sixteen too and I showed at a slumber party I had and all my friends loved it! The music is especially well done!

I'm 43 and I've seen it about 8 times with my granddaughter. She wanted to play the audio CD in my car. Well, she left it in the car, so now I listen to it on my way to work. I love it.

If anyone says there is anything negative about this movie......they are twisted.

reply

Haha! I'm 20, and I work in a daycare for kids 3-9. We rented this movie for the kids, and I would always here the background music, and I wanted to watch it for myself. I ended up buying it and listen to the CD in my car! I love it. I hum it all day.

okay, i'm going to top you all. i'm a 34-year-old straight guy, and i have to say, i too think these barbie movies--and this one in particular--are awesome.

i have a 20 month old daughter, and we watch this and some of the other newer barbie movies (rapunzel, swan lake, nutcracker) all the time. i was really surprised at how well they are made. the characters are great, the stories are good and well-plotted, and though i generally don't care for singing in movies, the songs in this one are pretty swell.

it's interesting to note how it seems, in all these barbie movies i've mentioned, the barbie company is really trying to combat the "barbie teaches girls to be bimbos" criticism. the female characters in these movies are strong and intelligent, they look within themselves to solve problems instead of relying on the handsome hero to save them, and are not compelled to marry the dashing guy hero at the end. barbie has come a long way since the days when you pulled her string and she said "math is hard!"

I'm a 19 year old girl and I loved this film! I just can't seem to get 'If you love me for me' out of my head lol. I love all the songs, and I like this story much better than the traditional Prince and the Pauper.

Go Mike!!

I'm 30, and have just watched this movie every day for the last 4 days with my 4yr old daughter and 5yr old son (who enjoys seeing his sister enjoy the movie).

I never had a Barbie growing up, and was always anti any daughter of mine having one. Now, I'm not so sure. They do seem to be evolving, and becoming more independent, which is great.

I'm the best at what I do, but what I do isn't very nice.

I'm 31 and a Barbie collector.

I've never wanted to see any of the Barbie films.. until I saw the preview for this one and it was well worth the funds spent to buy it. Even more so the dress packs they had for the dolls were of a very nice quality.

I thought it was cute and a good message for kids that Erika was happy with a barking cat, and did not try to change him.

I had bought Barbie of Swan Lake for my little sister (3) and it was okay. We saw this one at Blockbuster and she wanted to rent it. It's a little scary for her because all the bad guys of these movies have orange eyes and seem a little too bad. But it was a relly good movie. They obviously took their time and worked hard on it.
