I miss the old Barbie films...

Compare this film to the new Barbie films like Fashion Fairytale and Princess Charm School.
Barbie used to about strength, courage, friendship but now it's all about clothes, makeup and boys. The storylines are becoming more and more annoyingly 'teenage drama' and losing their inspiring messages.

Also, look at how the 'princes' have changed. I mean, have you seen the guy in Fashion Fairytale?

It saddens to see my younger sisters watch and look up to the Barbie in the recent movies...

I really wish they could go back and make more of the old Barbie films.

I know!!!!! The older ones were more sophisticated and mature. Now the newer ones are more superficial and shallow. they have become really annoying and cheesy. I even like the songs waay better from the older ones and now they're just cheesy disney-ish pop songs. they really need to go back to that. Even the tinkerbell movies are waay better than the newer ones. And the Princess and the Popstar doesn't even come CLOSE to the Princess and the Pauper.

I know, it's so true!!! I really miss the old ones too.
I grew up with this film, and I loved it so much, and I still do.

Totaly agree with you the new ones r just cheesy all the barbie movies from the nutcracker-the island princess r good all the movies after that. Ugh!!!!

I miss the old ones, too. Rapunzel and The Princess and the Pauper are my two favorites.
They've just been getting worse. Barbie: Spy Squad? Really? They should stick to adapting fairytales, because some of their "original" stories are just plain awful.
