Any significance of Lyla dropping her cross necklace?

They never reference it again.

reply

I wouldn't call it a goof, but it makes no sense not to explore it.

reply

perhaps they meant for louis to take but then they cut the scene

reply

My take is at that moment she lost what she was searching for and perhaps faith which the necklace was a cross which is symbolic of faith...

She lost her child 9 months later and then another 10 years.... I am taking a moment whilst movie is on hold as I am where she is now looking for August or Evan.....

Every orphans dream to believe their parents wanted them and somehow misplaced them... now united....

Twins was outstanding movie with that message loud n clear...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "Wizard" wearing it afterwards later on in the movie?

reply

You know, that might be the case.Tonight I'm going to re-watch it. Thanks.

Is it implied that "Wizard" was the guy they saw playing the guitar with a hat on when Lyla and Louis met?

reply

It is Wizard playing when they meet and ten years later he somehow managed to find their child

Well there are two possible explanations:
1. Writer/director is fanatical Christian and wanted to imply by losing her cross necklace she abandoned God and was later punished by losing child.

2. It was supposed to be followed by Louis going for the necklace but since movie was way too long already it went through heavy cutting in studio and they abandoned this storyline.

The best - Fight Club, American Beauty & Falling Down.
