This is a very good retrospective film about the making of the original movie. Very informative.

I didn't know they made a "how they made the movie" movie

Yeah, they did...Its on the George Lucas Directors Cut double DVD set. Its VERY very good. Very interesting, and it ties in very well as a kind of 'part 2' to 'A Film Legacy of Filmmakers: The Early Years of American Zoetrope' as it goes into depth about their first major feature film.

Both documentaries are extremely interesting, and its worth buying the George Lucas Directors Cut of THX1138 just for both these docos. Another good film which is featured on the double DVD is 'Bald'. It was films I think just before (and possible during from memory) the making of THX1138. Its a short film, butu its good to watch.
