I'm just here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and i'm out of bubble gum...

Read Archangel... I've read both and they are very close.. although in the book the ending for Archangel is better..

Havn't watched either movies thou

reply

Ahhhh... So I wasn't the only person who kept thinking DaVinci Code through the middle of the movie to nearly the end.

reply

Well it's actually the Da Vince Code which is resembling Archangel, not the other way around, since DVC was published five years after Archangel.

reply

How about comparing Archangel with "The Boys from Brazil"?

Oh just saw an earlier post... Nevermind

reply

Um, not much. A western professor and the bloodline of an icon, but other than that they don't have much in common. Although for a moment I thought the girl was the one, until I did the math and realised she was too young.

Well the stories defenitly had similarities. An American professor lecturing in an european country. An eldry european guy starts off the story, he gets murdered but leaves something behind for his (grand) daughter, who then bonds with the main character. They cross the country while being chased by a group of men. Of whom one at first looks to be the enemy but turns out to be a friend. A mistery which so far has only been myth has to be resolved and more...i think dan brown took a good look at this book when writing his...

reply

There was no American professor in Archangel. Daniel Craig is from England.

reply

Oh wow, so of all the similary, you dont count it because of the nationality of the professor.

reply

i thought Daniel Craig was affecting an american accent?

reply

He PLAYED and American, for cripe's sake!

Very stupid plot and very bad movie. Stalin had many legitimate grandchildrena nd nobody was making a big deal out of it.

Only one grandson Yevgenij tried some political career, he did not get any popular.

reply

Okay, notpuritan, you didn't like the movie.

However, the concept of a "lost son" of Stalin being groomed for a return of Stalinist "ideals" to power is frightening to anyone who knows anything about history. So much blood...

This was one of the scariest films I have ever seen. Oh, the horror.

Evacuate? In our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate their chances.

reply

I just saw the movie and da vinci code movie (never read those 2 books) and i found many similarity between these 2 storys.

Professor who's looking for something while bad guy want him dead.

Ok there's more than that, but you all know what we're talking about (except one of the poster here who didnt saw any ressemblance which make him a good retard.)

In some way, it look like another movie, Indiana Jones, except the adventure and the paranormal side.

per "Bulletcatcher" remarks:

I have often wondered why there are so many movies about Hitler and so few about
Stalin. Hitler picked which people he wanted eliminate, but Stalin would have
anyone killed! Anyone! The only monster who comes even close to him is Pol Pot unless I've mercifully forgotten someone else. Papa Doc Duvalier? Jeez!
I really don't want to start making a list of monsters who killed the most people in descending order.

Scariest film indeed. Real people in real time. If it had only been a badly-
made film, with a badly-written plot and rotten acting, I wouldn't be sitting here wondering if I'm going to throw up. But No! They had to do a good job of everything! Damn their hides!

reply

Yes, it reminded me of that somewhat!

reply

In a way. Should have been a bigger film. Despite its' flaws it's a nice diversion when dvr'd on a cold night. And the casting of Craig is not at all the huge gaffe others on this board would have you believe. Only those sullied by the literary version are offended.

reply

It's more like Stalin Jr. as Rambo. As the minutes wear on I'm gaining a fuller understanding of why this movie flopped.
