The ending is just so sad and senseless...

Deciding to kill Zach over a lousy 1200 bucks was just ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I still think Alpha Dog is a great movie. But I just think the ending is so sad and really senseless. The ending made me hate Frankie's character, through the overall perspective of everything. Frankie seemed like a such a cool guy throughout the movie, and all that changed when he decided to kill Zach. Even though he's not the one who pulled the trigger...he might as well have. Don't even get me started on how lame and senseless Elvis was. Elvis was like, "we're all looking at life". Um...well, what did he think was gonna happen if he killed Zach? Did he actually believe that a murder charge was going to be less severe than kidnapping? Did he think he was actually going to get away with it? Everything about Zach's demise was just so dumb, and like I said...sad. And honestly, Zach seemed like the kind of kid who would've kept his silence. I mean, even though he was technically kidnapped, he ended up partying, getting drunk, stoned, and hooking up with girls. The circumstances definitely could've been a lot worse for Zach.

I agree with u but I think it is this tragedy at the end which made this movie so awesome!

It is a great movie.

Didn't say otherwise?

you do know this is pretty much the way the situation played out in real life, don't you?

reply

I haven't really researched the real life ordeal all that much.

Yeah, I knew the story behind the film before I viewed the film itself; everyone's favorite predator catcher, Chris Hansen, did the segment on it for "Dateline". Tough, sad, senseless turn of events.

How does anyone answer with anything less/most than a, Yeah.

I only saw this movie once years ago, but I remember it being extremely anticlimactic. It's like, "Oh hey, we've been hanging out with you the entire movie. We've been holding you hostage, but kind of like you. Now here we are on this mountain top, I don't really want to kill you, but I want to kill something so I will shoot you." It was an extremely amateur execution.
