Completely agree, I think she's the new Kris (Kris hotter and cooler though)! I have seen a pic of Michelle with longer hair and it does make an improvement but that might be my bias.

No idea. I switched to it about 2 mins in to see, but there was no mention of it for the next 5 mins, so I moved on.
Given the 'emergency' she's been dealing with for the last few episodes, I'd guess it's something personal that is more important than what's arguably the best job she's likely ever had. However, I think it's equally likely she got the axe like all those other investigators-in-training seem to fall victim to.

I missed the beginning of the show, too and when I tuned in she was saying that she was so happy when she got the call to join GH and now she's leaving but she'll be back. Or something to that effect. But I missed -- if it was mentioned at all -- why she's leaving.
I was thinking, maybe it was because Jason's daughter, Samantha just joined the show and they needed to choose between the two of them. But that's just a guess.
