It sounds like their final season will be starting with a good episode...
I have heard of a couple of random tales of ghost trains before... But, they always seem to be told by descendants of those who saw them, like "My Grandma said she saw one when she was a kid." There never seems to be any evidence to back up those claims, And it is odd that I have not heard of any reports from recent times. I guess ghost trains were only seen, mostly in the past?
One time, I downloaded an EVP from a website, that claimed it featured a steam train whistle from a moving train, which could be heard at a station in modern times, where there were no steam trains. The EVP did feature a steam train whistle from a moving train... But who knows where and when that recording was actually made. I'm not saying the recording was faked, just the claim might be wrong...
A famous ghost train, that is "well known" is Abraham Lincoln's Funeral Train, which follows the same route, supposedly on the anniversary of that journey... The train is crewed by skeletal looking Civil War spectres, and clocks stop in towns along the way, as it passes. If it is not real, I am not sure why anyone would come up with this tale. As far as I know, there is no known evidence of this either, however, if clocks do stop in towns, there should be some proof of that somewhere...
I am not hopeful, that TAPS will find any evidence of a Ghost Train. But, I would like to see something like that... But so many people on IMDb think they fake EVERYTHING, that you have to wonder if they will actually capture something genuinely unexplained.
Remember, the owners of these places are bringing reports of these hauntings to TAPS to investigate, before the TAPS team sets up their equipment, and then presents claims of capturing "Evidence". So, there must be something to these reports presented by the owners. What that something is, is open to debate.
I can see a crash being the cause of these claims. Perhaps a residual haunting?
Even if the Ghost Reports are misinterpreted claims, and TAPS doesn't find any so-called "evidence"...
That should be an interesting episode for seeing the historic roundhouse and rail yard, and learning about it's history.
