Officially cancelled, no season 12

http://renewcanceltv.com/ghost-hunters-cancelled-syfy-no-season-12/

It's about time. I think the only viewers left were soap fans. The show became totally ridiculous a long time ago, when one of the "ghosts" accidentally could be seen wearing tennis shoes.

Then WTF do you care if it gets cancelled or not? Are you TOO STUPID to understand that there are hundreds of other channels with other kinds of programming that you can watch instead?

You are exactly the sort of gullible idiot that kept this phony show going for way too long. Your arguments make no sense whatsoever. I'm not going to waste much time on you, but see if you can understand two things:

1) I have as much right to review this show as anyone. Reviews don't have to be positive, dopey.
2) It's not a matter of having many other channels to watch. By cancelling this show, they free up a slot where perhaps something better will air. There's no guarantee, but at least there's a chance.

Wow, you really drank the Kool-Aid. This show has been debunked multiple times, and former cast members have admitted it's fake. But I'll bet you never even bothered to Google it to find out. That would be too painful, I guess, so you'd rather just keep fooling yourself.

Yeah, I remember the infamous tennis shoe episode. The "ghost" had supposedly died long before tennis shoes had been invented. Busted!

syfy cancelled it but they could go somewhere else.

With heavy heart we want to inform everyone that we are choosing at this time to end our relationship with SyFy channel. Season 11 will be the last season we will do Ghost Hunters ‘With the Syfy Channel’.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

Maybe an even sleazier channel will pick it up, but I doubt it. It's like a bad joke in the paranormal investigation field. From Wikipedia:

Ghost Hunters has attracted various critics and skeptics, such as Joe Nickell of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, Skeptical Inquirer author Lynne Kelly, James Randi, and Benjamin Radford. The Skeptical Analysis of the Paranormal Society (SAPS) was founded with the intent to recreate and debunk segments of the show.

In June 2008, Ghost Hunters was awarded The Truly Terrible Television (TTTV) Award by Independent Investigations Group for peddling pseudoscience and superstition to its audience.

People have been mentioning Destination America but that's a small channel with not a ton of funds to put on shows. That's why they are making their own, new shows. It's cheaper. Jason claims it isn't about money, then what is it about? He wants longer seasons? That costs money. He's mad that they use GH ratings to introduce new shows? Every network does this!

Shows not only have to have good ratings, they also have to have sponsors (advertisers) that justify the cost of the show. GH diluted their product with far too many episodes per season.

Personally I think Jason is just stringing people along, but we'll see.

Syfy didn't want to cancel it. Jason and Pilgrim films decided to end the show on Syfy due to how syfy was treating them. on Jason's podcast he basically said that he had had enough of syfy's bs. the show kept shrinking in episodes every season. And whenever they did bring it back they would use it to introduce a new tv show. The show still gets a ton of ratings and syfy was using the show to get viewers to watch whatever was usually after it. According to Jason he was upset that syfy was constantly changing premier days and lengths of the seasons making them shorter and shorter every time. Jason and Pilgrim films got with syfy and decided to part ways. Since Jason and Pilgrim films own the name Ghost Hunters they will keep it and as Jason has already said on podcast they are already shopping around for a new home. Many think it will be Destination America channel. If anything, syfy will probably try and convince viewers that don't know, that the show is officially canceled which it is not, it's just moving to another network.

Well, somebody must have made up with somebody because it's coming on tonight on Syfy.

It looks like they're showing new episodes out of production order; 1102 airs before 1101. The fact that it airs on a deteriorating science fiction channel says it all. Soon that channel may be the "all ghosts all the time" channel. It's fodder for the easily deluded, of which there are still plenty out there. Because of the fragmentation of the viewing audience, nearly any show, no matter how stupid, can survive somewhere.

Tonight starts season 11, not season 12.

Not to mention that SyFy stopped making seasons available on Amazon Video. TAPS can do better just streaming their episodes over YouTube.

I was a devoted fan for many years, but this show has been running on empty for a couple of seasons now.

Despite the premise of the show, it can't be an easy task to come up with an alleged paranormal site week in and out, and catch enough on film to make a 48-minute show interesting.

I like Jason, miss Grant and like the peripheral cast members. But Steve has never been very interesting as a side kick except for the times that he screamed like a girl when he would see bugs or ran into the occasional cobweb.

It was fun/interesting in the first 5 or 6 seasons, but do yourselves and the viewers a favor and RIP.

My resignation over the cancellation has to do with the content of the show, which has become a snore from week to week.

The accusations of fraud (the walkway "ghost" in the early penitentiary episode being a good example as you can clearly see the sole of a modern tennis shoe at the bottom left when the figure runs off down the walkway, and Guy on film fiddling with something in his pocket just before his collar gets pulled down by a supposedly unseen hand in a later episode) are disappointing and taint all of what seemed to be exciting findings in past episodes. And how many shows have there been in the last few years where no evidence was found? So just put it to rest folks; take your money and go.
