Know anyone that resembles Nathan or the idiots who work at Sugar Ape and actually like the show?
I know a few and it's just hilarious. I can't see how they don't realise this show is calling them twats! The mind boggles - they seem to think the show is being ironic and that actually Nathan and co are really cool!

yep exactly the same thing - i know total idiots who still thinks its funny. maybe because the show goes way overboard in terms of parody, those real people don't identify themselves as being those characters. and i've been into clubs, unwillingly of course, where you can actually hear jones-style music and people dancing as though they're at the sugarape party - have a wander in shoreditch/hoxton on a friday or saturday night and experience the sights and sounds of the idiot culture.
shareI've met a few of the types in college, and there's plenty of clubs in Newcastle that have Barley-likes. Most of the ones I knew haven't seen Nathan Barley though, and I doubt they'd see the satire.

shareI originally borrowed the DVD from a friend who is exactly like Nathan Barley. That made me love the series even more because I thought at the time that he wasn't aware of the similarity.
