I love how none of the people running the magazine are idiots but they don't mind playing to idiots, except Dan of course. They try to be as blatant as possible about what they do yet people still buy their magazine. "trash which is all around us plus bat" says it all. The creator sees it as a tool to beat down trash and also seems to enjoy being the ultimate prankster.
