where's Bill Wyman?

on the credits i see

MICK
KEITH
BRIAN (of course)
CHARLIE

but no BILL WYMAN.

uh... the stones did have a bassist!

also, MICK TAYLOR replaced JONES. he should be in it too.

but especially BILL WYMAN.

reply

I'm glad somebody else noticed. Bill was just as important as any of the other Stones...where's he gone?! Unless he told the producers that he didn't want to be portrayed in the film. Who knows...

reply

The film was about Brian though, not The Stones. It was only necessary to have some of the Stones in that were relavant to the story

reply

Well, he was in the movie.

In the studio he sits quietly in the background with his bass. And he's obviously on stage with the band in the live pictures in the beginning of the movie.

Why he wasn't credited could be because he's not in the band anymore?

And Mick Taylor might not have been credited because he wasn't in any live pictures at all and not even in the band when the movie takes place?

reply

yes but they could have shown him at the end

reply

Bill Wyman might be the luckiest guy in the world. Who else can walk into a sweet gig like that. He was a bass player. Next to drummers, who gives a frogs fat ass about the bass player?

reply

Bill should have been in the movie. In his book, he said about Brian, "I loved the guy." And, here was a musician who never missed a gig while Brian missed several, even rehearsals he attended physically but passed out on the floor. Yes, I saw "Bill Wyman" in the beginning, too. I read in "Brian Jones and the Death of the '60's" or something like that that Mick Taylor's first day with the band was also the day the band learned of Brian's death. The Stones soon gave a free concert in Hyde Park in Brian's memory. Unfortunately, the following August, they experienced the debacle of Altamont.

"Two more swords and I'll be Queen of the Monkey People." Roseanne

reply

Dude, do some research. Altamont was December 6, 1969. The concert in Hyde Park was planned before Brian's death.

reply

Um, it might be that music sounds like *beep* without a rhythm section...

"Adolph Hitler is still alive. I slept with her last night."

reply

I didn't see a 5th member and I can't re-call seeing anyone playing bass on the stage shots.

Bill was in some scenes on stage and in the studio.

reply

It is Bill Wyman's bass line that MAKES the tune "Satisfaction". Without it, it's just three silly notes on the electric guitar.

reply

Why did the others have enough nerves not to let him play alone on all Stones records ? Who did they think they were ? Arrogant bastards !

Anyway now he's in the credits, so he's in the movie

Josef Altin ... Bill Wyman
