The other actors

In the movie, there was a random asian boy behind the scenes, I think he was also competing with Alyson - would anyone know who this boy is? He looks oddly familiar.

Also, how come they didn't focus on the other magicians that much? I mean, they did a few parts on the other boy magician, but not much on the girl - I mean, everyone would know that Danny would win, but really? No need to make it that obvious...
