WHY is lou pucci in this movie?

i havent seen this yet so i may be totally off base, but just from reading the summary this movie seems like your typical generic teen comedy flick. it strikes me as odd that pucci would be in it, since most of his movies are a lot more complex than this. i mean here, the only complexity is *gasp* will loveable screwup darren get the girl and manage to evade the evil thugs mistakenly chasing him in time to study for finals? yeah, ive seen it before, and i didnt enjoy it that much then either. pucci will probably be good in the role, he can pretty much do no wrong in my eyes, but... why is he doing it in the first place?

I saw the film at Tribeca and I can tell you it is definitely NOT a "generic teen comedy flick." It IS more complex than that. It's a gem of an indie that is different from what would come out of Hollywood. Don't trust the summary. I sure hope it doesn't get marketed that way (if it even gets distributed, which I hope it does). In fact, I think one reason it isn't getting distributed yet is because it's NOT a typical teen comedy.

give it a chance when i saw the movie at blockbusters the first thing that popped into mind was DI CK FLICK! but i watched it because i love pucci work in thumbsuckers, chumbscrubber and his abilities to have different characters and not be typed cast like when he was in the greenday video i didnt even know it was him. now dont get me wronge this movie isnt the greatest, the ending is empty, but it has quite humourous moment and you'll be atleast impressed by pucci ability to make a di ck flick a decent comedy

behold the worlds worst accident i am the girl anachronism

I was also surprised that Lou Pucci was in this. I watched it last night and I liked the comedy in it - but Pucci didn't quite fit. He seemed very forced and out of place in this piece; his acting is too good for this!!!

P.S. It is not a complex movie.

Not really a complex movie, but neither is it a "generic teen flick comedy." They do shoehorn some of that stuff in (rather awkwardly) with the direct-address to camera, but Pucci's performance seems a bit off b/c he has to try to ground the movie while all the other characters are so outlandish, by and large.
