The last good Def Jam fighting game (and the best of the series)

They did everything right with this game

-Great Soundtrack
-Great Graphics
-Great Fighting Engine and Mechanics
-A HUGE Roster of Characters
-Great Voice Cast
-Decent Story
-Great Controls

...why in God's name did the change all that for Icons??? If it ain't broken, DON'T FIX IT!

The graphics were beautiful, yes. The way the environment reacted to the music was perfect. And the soundtrack was OK (considering they started using that "Dirty South" style music...which I'm not a fan of at all). But that's it!

Here is what they did wrong.

-The control scheme is confusing and horrid. Your characters moves were annoying and hard to pull off. There was no room for improving character's stats like in Fight For NY. Movements were stiff.

-What happened to weapons?

-Lame story that has NOTHING to do with the previous games.

-Characters aren't as customizable like Fight For NY It takes FOREEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEER to earn everything too. And once it is unlocked, you realize it ain't worth *beep*

...and finally, the worst crime of it all

-I remember during an interview with Kudo Tsunoda that he didn't believe the wrestling mechanics is well suited for Def Jam Icon (yet IT WAS PERFECTLY FINE WITH THE PREVIOUS INSTALLMENTS). All the "Blaze" special moves are GONE!!! WHY??? The fighting system blows dogs for quarters. The DJ idea was cool, but it will throw off anyone who is a fan of the other games. They are down right annoying to pull off and the computer will cheese the *beep* out of you with it, making you unable to even get an attack on it.

Kudo Tsunoda...you ruined the series--and because of it's failure, we will never see another Def Jam game again. They shut down the Chicago studio, and EA likely doesn't want to do another Def Jam game again. They lost a crapload of money on the game. And with the purchase of Bioware, the company said bye-bye. EA knows what's up. They even changed the wikipedia entry of all the criticism the game received and made it look more favorable for it.

Kudo Tsunoda...I'll hate you forever!
