Book versus TV adaptation

I've just read the book - after having watched the BBC TV adaptation in 2005. Does anyone else, think like me, that the TV adaptation is actually better? I think that the Claire/Philip Chase/Doug Anderton love triangle was sort of handled better. I also think that the Mr. Plum and Mrs. Chase romance thing was handled better. As well, as the whole Cicely/Ben romance getting consummated in Wales. It was also good, that Steve Richards' fate was better than in the book.

I sort of accept that they had to simplify some things - like having Harding relegated as a class clown and also the character of Culpepper sidelined.
