Anyone?
I was hoping someone has seen this and commented on it so I would know if I should pick it up or not. Anyone out there?
share5 years late with a reply here, but if you can find it for between $1 or $2 in the bargain bin like I did, then yeah, it's worth it. I probably wouldn't pay more than $5 for it though (I believe it's still on TV once in a while, likely on YTV or Teletoon here in Canada).
The voice acting is good, the music/score is much better than what you'd usually get for a children's made-for-TV/direct-to-DVD film, and the story is above-average for this sort of thing too. Also, it's sorta PG-ish (you have on-screen deaths, swords and other weapons being stuck through people, other assorted creative kinds of deaths--no blood though) and a little bit dark, which might make it a bit more appealing to a non-child audience.
Even if only for the lack of quality fantasy (and especially dragon-related) films out there, it's worth a watch. I haven't seen its sequel yet.
