Alternate Title for US Release
I just noticed in an article in Video Business Magazine(5/7/07) that this film is being released in the US under the title "The 4 Musketeers."
shareYes, and I am confused on this... The time given is only 180 mintues instead of 210. Is this a typo, or is there indeed 30 minutes removed from the DVD version.
The language on the disk (according to Amazon) is English instead of French. Is it now dubbed instead of subtitled?
If they've chopped out 30 mintues and dubbed it, can we expect a full and corrected version later? Dubbing is a viable option, but I think preference should go to providing the original language with subtitles.

I'm a big Dumas fan so I was looking forward to this but;
1. The writers have taken too many liberties with the original story. If they had called it something else and not associated it with the Dumas story it would have still been dreck.
2. I'm not sure what language this is in, but I'm unable to view it in its original language with subtitles, so it sounds like a bad kung-fu movie.
3. I didn't think there could be any worse portrayal of this story when I saw the Disney/Sutherland/Sheen version until I saw the John Woo Musketeer version. Now I have seen a new low.
Avoid at all costs if you are a Dumas fan.

The lip-syncing was evident throughout as it wasn't a native English flick but definately worthy of any Musketeers fan collection!
Good to see it's finally available in North America, but excluding the original French soundtrack as an option on the DVD was, I think, a mistake. Decide for yourself.

Kung fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene...
Very bad dubbing (voices horrible, just like dubbing in 70's cheap movies) and pseudo 5.1 sound (weak decomposition from stereo).

Can't be sure, of course, but the second one sounds like it may have been written by one of the film's investors.
