Similar movie?

I seem to remember hearing about a movie similar to this one.

It was about a boy who was a fan of a "power rangers" type kids show where some hero fought giant monsters.

He grows up and dresses like the hero from the kids show. Unbeknowest to him the kid show was real and he's now tapped to fight off some evil.

Is any of this ringing a bell?

All I can seriously remember is a picture of a man dressed all in silver walking the street.

Your probably referring to "Zebraman" Also directed by Takashi Miike, who directed "The Great Yokai War".

Zebraman is great fun.
Dont expect mind blowing special effects or anything, its cheesy and it knows it, but its a lot of fun.
