Who agrees with me? This has got to be the most beautiful battle epic ever not to mention one of the best films to come out of China. If Chinese films like IP Man and Infernal Affairs make it into the top 250, why not this one?

shareI agree, I loved it and I have only seen the American cut version.
I am not a huge fan of John Woo's action stuff as it is a bit over the top for me, but the movie as a whole is one of the best directed flicks i have ever seen in my 50 years of life.
Great characters, scenery, and linking of scenes into each other. I was blown away and look forward to seeing the whole version hopefully soon.

shareIt should definitely be more recognized than it is. All the effort and care that went into the sets and battles is pretty incredible. The representation of Kongming's debate with the advisers of Wu was pretty stellar too as far as non violent praises go.
Also, that music.
Had this been a Hollywood film, the West would adore it much the same way they adored 300 or Gladiator, I think.
I do think there was much more to Infernal Affairs than there was to Chi Bi though, personally. Much more accessible too.
It deserves the top 250 for that incredible tracking shot of the bird alone.
