Hey why bother?

Why build any kind of tension or anxiety using the story elements or atmosphere? Why not just have things happen suddenly and accompany them with trumpet blares for a cheap 'scare'. It makes people jump, even when they expect it; even when there's nothing scary about it.

That's what this movie is. Nothing interesting or scary, no characters worth noting, no visual atmosphere, just an assortment of moments when things suddenly move accompanied by trumpet blare.

This is all anyone seems to know how to do any more. Embarrassing for the actors...
