What the fu** was the purpose with the Estate Guy????

What the hell was the point with the estate guy who seemed really anxious to buy the house in the start?
And then later on in the movie in the flashbacks of Burwell he's offering Burwell the same 15% offer????

I never understood his part in the movie either. I was expecting he would have some kind of connection to the events that occurred at the house, supernatural maybe also, but I didn't see that kind of thing about him. As you said too he had previously made an offer to Burwell also, and I didn't see a tie in there either to the real estate guy.

"Do you need a bowman!?"

No clue. Didn't make sense at all and he ultimately seemed like a random filler guy. I thought he would have had a greater meaning towards the end of the movie. If he were the master ghost of the house his role would made sense. Such a let down the whole end part.

I thought that the letter he handed to Burwell, with the failed crops in the background, was a foreclosure, i.e. disaster for Burwell. That's why he crumpled it up.

Agree that the bank guy looked like he'd have more of a role though, especially as he seemed to be trying to help out the new owners with the 15% extra offer at the start.

7 outta 10 from me anyway.

One thing I noticed was the 2nd time the Banker came out he looked rather sickly and older and tired. So I figured he was spirit, and was attached and or part of the house. I am watching it just now so I may not have the whole picture.

Read the Trivia page; his part is never explained. My interpretation of his random appearances was that he was dead, and "attached" to the farm for some reason. Would explain why only DM's character saw him, just like only Ben saw the ghosts at first.

I think he was just kind of meant to be a red herring.
Maybe to try and make people think he was the villan

reply

I think he was looking for Muldar and Scully.
