WHEN did this hit the theatres??

I just rented this movie. Overall,I liked it quite a lot. Oh, there's no denying that it's formulaic dreck, but Simon Pegg is swell as ever and I also found Dylan Moran quite likable and their combined charisma (oh, and throw in a cute kid)is enough to redeem this big cliche-wad of a movie. As long as you don't go in with silly expectations of groundbreaking cinema...it's a good time.

OK, that outta the way, let me get to my point (I think I have one..). I was surprised to see this movie when I was picking out a rental. I was like "Hey--I'd wanted to go see that.." but couldn't recall when I would've had the chance to. I remember first spying this on the Worst Previews website but at that point its release was months away and I just sort of mentally "dog-eared" the movie. Next thing I know, it's a rental in my local Red Box. WTF? It's like the movie went in & out of theaters on the sly. And currently Simon Pegg has another movie "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" which is coming anyday now to theaters or is now in theaters or has been in theaters for a week, I'm not sure. And yes, I can find exact release dates easily enough on IMDB but I want to know why I am not seeing TV spots for Pegg's movies. Yes, I concede that "Run Fat Boy Run" was kind of a junker movie, and perhaps this new one is too, but SO?? Hollywood has never had any qualms about peddling junk movies on TV. So it just makes me presume that the powers that be just don't find Pegg marketable. And that irks me, because I just ADORE Simon Pegg.

It wasn't even playing at my local cinema (that I work at) and I was pissed because their are a bunch of flat-screens above the concessions where they play trailers and this one played just about every 5 minutes! Also, there were posters too. That's false advertising, I think.

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People was at our theater a week, the lowest amount of time possible..they change the schedule every Friday.

In the U.S. it came out March 28, but it wasn't even at where I live. It may not have been at your local cinema either.

Run Fatboy Run - 9/10
Romeo + Juliet - 10/10
