For those who have issues with the son not looking mixed

Here are some examples in real life where one parent is AA and the other parent is caucasian American and their offspring look Caucasian:

Rashida Jones is the daughter of Peggy "Mod Squad and Twin Peaks" Lipton and music mogul Qunicy Jones.

Rashida Jones doesn't exactly look caucasian. In The Office, Michael even says to her "Wow, you're exotic. Was your father a GI?"

She's still hot stuff though.

also thandie newton has very light skin. but if you really look at jake, you can see a resemblance between them. they have a very similar face shape.

While what the original poster said may be correct--I'm sure there are some instances in which kids of mixed parents don't look like they have any parentage of one of the ethnicities--NEITHER of the two women you mentioned in your original post would fall into that category.

Also, I think how "black" or "non-black" either of those women look depends a lot on how they are styled, how makeup is applied, etc. For instance, when Rashida was on the Dave Chappelle show (pre-Office & everything else), no one would have thought she looked anything other than black. (If you can find the skit where he is trying to get her to sign the confidentiality agreement so that she can't tell anyone how quick he was in bed--that's the one she was on.)

Also, besides (MAYBE) times when Maya was dressed up on SNL to look like Versace or some other white celebrities (and often not even then) she never looked like she wasn't African American.

I'm mixed and I call myself mixed... and I know a lot of other mulattoes who do the same. Why not say "some" instead of "most?"
