I watched this movie about 3 weeks ago on one of DISH Networks' Premium channels (I believe it was STARZ Movieplex), and I really enjoyed it. Looked it up on Amazon, found it, and ordered it. When I received the DVD and watched it, I was shocked to see that several minutes--the scenes that contained the sounds, and some images, of Danny Devito and Kathy Bates in bed--were cut from the DVD. In particular, the scenes where Ron Livingston and Neve Campbell could hear the moaning from the bedroom, AND the scene where Ron discovers the "Excalibur" vibrator in their closet, were VERY funny, but were NOT on the DVD I received.

The DVD shows a running time of 86 minutes, and IMDB also lists that as the running time. Since I no longer have access to the program listing for when the movie ran, I can't see what the running time was of the STARZ/DISH broadcast. Also, STARZ does not list a running time on their web site description of the movie.

I know a lot of folks did not like the movie, but if you did, and you watched it on STARZ, I would be curious if you saw the above-mentioned scenes.

Needless to say, I plan to complain to Amazon, and will return the DVD, as it is NOT satisfactory.

The DVD was censored. That scene is only in the cable versions.

I feel your pain. My father and I watched Relative Strangers on Comedy Central some years ago. It was a hilarious movie, especially the sex scene in which you see the shadow of Frank Menure's dong on the wall! I was thoroughly disappointed to find the DVD version of the movie had a butchered cut of the sex scene, which I personally found to be the climax of the film (no pun intended!). This is one of the very few posts I have seen about this issue and I am shocked to see that someone else besides my father and myself cared enough to complain about this desecrated DVD version of Relative Strangers.

Heads up!!! RELATIVE STRANGERS is to be run on StarZ Movieplex channel on January 16! It will run a couple of times that day. Get your DVR's ready!

It showed as scheduled, and it wasn't cut!!! Hope you got a chance to see the unedited version.

Most people hate it on this board, it doesn't appeal to film geeks I guess. On other sites, like Amazon, people like it more and have complained about the cuts.
